I talk with a lot of firms about marketing. My general philosophy is to be very conservative with the marketing budget. Most businesses would rather throw money than time at marketing. I'm seeing a lot of business activities, expensive activities, where the goal is never defined. It's never asked. Not asked before the money is spent. Not after the money is spent. Not ever.
