The subject of fear came up in a conversation with a startup business owner this morning. Yes, it is scary to be in business. I had better be a little scary or you are kidding yourself. But, it does have to be too scary if you are not making insane financial decisions or taking big risks. Startup businesses should be doing neither until the owner gets a firm understanding of the business and establishes a track record of success.
Unless you are about to buy a $500,000 piece of equipment or sign a lease for 500% more space, stop worrying and focus on work and especially on marketing.
As I told my client, once you made the decision to jump in the ocean, it no longer mattered how deep it is. Swim.
