Small business. In a given day, how much time do you spend talking or communicating with customers or prospective customers about them? Do you just check in and say “hi”? No sales pitch, no strings. Just a simple, “how are you?” will do. Send one thank you card per day. Hand-written.

Big business. Do you ever call suppliers and say, “thank you for your service. I know it’s really tough these days but your service is appreciated.”  Do the same with big accounts.

All businesses.  Talk to your people. Call someone into your office every day and say, “I just wanted to tell you that I appreciate your work. Thanks.”

Don’t be phony. Don’t kiss ass. Don’t do it to get something in return.
