People like to see it.

When customers visit your business do they see visible signs of attempts at doing something positive for the environment? If not, you should consider taking some noticeable steps to go green.

People like know they are doing business with a company that cares about the environment. It’s a way for them to feel like they are doing something positive. People like to support businesses that are trying to do “good”. Your customers notice little things that familiarity blinds you to. They see trash cans filled with paper and think waste. If recycling is practical in your business, do it. Or empty the the trash cans more often. Don’t permit waste to pile up.

Can you reduce packaging and packing material? Do it. Can you use less plastic and more natural fiber in your packaging? Do it.

Let your customers know you want to make a difference and let it be known that you are open to suggestions. Customers also like to know they are that important to you.

Just think about it. You might come up with something that gets you noticed. I’d like to hear what you do!
